Marc Jacobs Beauty

Marc Jacobs Beauty

Just about a month ago, I decided to branch off of Chanel products and check out the Marc Jacobs Beauty line - exclusively sold at Sephora. The first product I picked up was the limited edition "Lightshow Luminizing Powder" which retailed for $71 Canadian. This product is a beautiful powder, which applies very smoothly and leaves a soft "glowy" finish. Due to it being very finely milled, it doesn't leave a powdery finish on top of the skin, but sinks into the skin and is very seamless. I use it to highlight my cheekbones and a little around the cheeks.

The one problem I have with this product is that it is very deceiving when looking at it online. It may look sparkly and golden, but basically after the first couple of uses, the gold sparkles fall off and the rest of the product is matte, but still beautiful.  The 3 tones in the pan can be used to create the perfect looking complexion.
As for packaging, its a very sleek, compact that comes with a beautiful large mirror. To "protect" the powder when it's stored it comes with a little flimsy piece of plastic with the typical Marc Jacobs text emblemed onto it, which doesn't stay in place and makes it feel cheap. Otherwise, everything about this product is flawless.

The product that I just bought recently was the The Face 2 - Sculpting Foundation Brush (Brush 2). This brush at $60 Canadian, can be hard to figure out what it's use really is - but you can use it basically for whatever you want. At first, being that Marc Jacobs is a new addition to the makeup world, I wasn't too sure if his tools would be all that great. Honestly though - these brushes are the most unique, high quality brushes I have ever seen and/or have. All of these brushes from his line are the softest, most dense brushes you will ever feel. I use this brush here specifically for further blending in my foundation to get it to not just sit on the skin - but to make a seamless finish. I also use this to lightly "contour" with my Soleil Tan de Chanel Makeup Base.

One thing I love about this brush is definitely how heavy and well built it is. The only thing I do not like is the packaging. The box is beautiful, but inside, I was disappointed to find that it didn't come with a velour/velvet sleeve like the Chanel brushes that I do own, so that when I take my brushes out, I don't have to worry about them being damaged.

Overall, the Marc Jacobs line is definitely worth checking out and I will be hopefully checking out more of their products.

Please comment, share, and let me know if you enjoyed this review and/or it helped you!

Winter Outfit

Winter Fashion

During the colder months, fashion is a lot easier (in my opinion) because you often can dress it up, add layers and lots of accessories. The outfit shown above is one of the more simpler outfit. A simple sweater and skinny jeans are perfect for the Winter. Doc Martens are a staple in any collection of shoes. These boots can always complete the look and are always look perfect and feel wonderful.. I got my Doc Martens at a store in my local mall, which sold for around $175 which is quite the price, but they last so long and look so good season after season. Just polish them with a neutral leather cleaner ever so often, and they will stay looking brand new. Adding accessories can always change up the look, so by adding a gold chain (from H&M or local thrift stores) and/or a watch, (Marc Jacobs above) can always dress it up.
This is just a simple outfit for the cold weather, but you can always add jackets, hats, scarves and many more items. For my next few blogspots, I will be creating many more diverse looks for this season.

My inspiration for my fashion definitely comes from American Apparel, and my own ensembles. High end fashion brands also inspire me for other looks, (not this look, this is one of my main outfits) many of which I will be reviewing later on hopefully.

This is my first outfit post and I will be definitely be doing many more for this holiday season! I hope this may have inspired you or helped you pick out some new outfits :)

Chanel Les Beiges/Chanel Touch-Up Brush Review

Overall, the show was gorgeously laid out and incorporated beautiful attire as Chanel always comes out with. This Show was one of my favourites to date and I only wish I c
"Enhance, brighten, bronze and beyond with LES BEIGES Healthy Glow Sheer Color SPF 15. Seven effortless shades of this versatile powder lets you create a custom glow for any season, any occasion. The sheer, lightweight color can be worn alone or over foundation for natural radiance each day."

- As said by the website above, this Chanel product does in fact give you a healthy sheer glow. It gives you color when your face may be looking dull or tired.

I use this product in the shade N10 (picture above) which is the lightest shade. I have fairly light pale skin, so it can be hard to find the right shade sometimes in the majority of brands. I was so pleased when I saw how well it complimented my skin and gave me a great healthy look. In Canada, the price is higher than the USA, it's about $60CAN.

If you're looking for coverage, this product is not for you!

This powder covers up minor redness and evens out skin tone to give a healthy glow. To apply, I use the Chanel Touch-Up Brush which was around $50CAN. I have been using it as a universal brush as it it perfect for everything. It has natural hair bristles and washes perfectly with regular shampoo and conditioner. The Les Beiges brush the compact comes with is okay, but not as good as this. The Les Beiges retractable kabuki
is more dense, which I do like, but this one is most ideal.

Overall, these two products are amazing and I recommend them highly!

Chanel Men's Fall 2013 Knitwear

Chanel's new Men's Fall 2013 Knitwear featuring Daniel Roberts, shown above in several photos wearing various Chanel's Knitwear for this Autumn. Perfect for this cold weather, I wish I could get my hands on these items.

This is my first blogspot post, I'm really trying to get into making a personal blog to review makeup, OOTDs, (outfit of the day) and art posts. Please share/follow if you're interested and want me to do more! Hope you're all having a wonderful month of October.
